Payments, deposits and refunds policy

At lost archive we take great care in crafting bespoke jewellery, ensuring each piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. Due to the personalised nature of our work, we have specific policies regarding payments, deposits, and refunds. Please read the following carefully before placing your order.

1. Payments & Deposits

CAD Design Fee

  • A £100 CAD design fee is required to begin the design process. This fee covers the time and expertise involved in creating a detailed digital representation of your bespoke piece.

  • If you proceed with your order, this fee will be deducted from the final cost of your jewellery.

  • The CAD design fee is non-refundable, regardless of whether you proceed with the final order.

Initial Payment (50% Deposit)

  • A 50% deposit of the total order value is required to confirm your order and begin production.

  • This deposit secures materials, reserves production time, and allows us to commence the crafting of your bespoke piece.

  • The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Final Payment (50% Prior to Delivery)

  • The remaining 50% balance is due before delivery or collection of your completed jewellery.

  • Once your piece is ready, we will notify you and request the final payment. The jewellery will only be dispatched or made available for collection after full payment has been received.

2. Refunds & Cancellations

Non-Refundable Deposits

  • The £100 CAD design fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, as it covers the cost of materials, labour, and time already invested in your bespoke piece.

Refund Policy for Bespoke Orders

  • Due to the custom nature of bespoke jewellery, we do not offer refunds or exchanges once production has begun. Each piece is made to order and tailored specifically to your requirements, making it ineligible for resale.

  • If there is a fault with your jewellery due to a manufacturing defect, we will assess the issue and, where necessary, repair or remake the piece at our discretion. Please refer to our Repairs & Warranty Policy for further details.

3. Changes to Orders

  • The final CAD/design must be agreed upon before we proceed to production. Any requested changes after this point may affect pricing.

  • As a default, we do not make changes to jewellery designs once production has started. However, in exceptional cases, we may accommodate minor adjustments at our discretion.

  • If changes are made after production has commenced, additional charges may apply, depending on the nature of the modifications.
